Absence

If your child is going to be absent from school please call or phone to let us know. A written note to explain the reason is appreciated.  We also need to hear from you should your child be unable to participate in Games, P.E. or Swimming.

Children should not be taken out of school for holidays during term time.  Leave during term time will only be authorised in exceptional circumstances and a request should be made using the 'Application for Leave of Absence from School During Term Time' form  (see attachment). Incidences of irregular attendance will be investigated, in the first instance, by the headteacher.  The school adheres to the cluster policy for fining for unauthorised absences.

Please note that there are particular times of the year when the school is carrying out National Curriculum Assessments, and absence could be detrimental to your child’s progress. The summer term is particularly crucial.
